The Office of the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies is pleased to announce the opening of nominations for the
Graduate Studies Awards. The awards are detailed as follows:
First: College-Level Awards
These awards include the following four categories:

Master's Thesis Award
Eligible candidates are graduate students who have completed their thesis manuscript, which must be approved by the primary supervisor prior to the submission deadline. Students who graduated in the previous semester are also eligible to apply.

Doctoral Dissertation Award
Eligible candidates are doctoral students with a completed dissertation manuscript that has been approved by the primary supervisor prior to the submission deadline. Graduates from the previous semester are also eligible.

Research Award
This award is open to graduate students who have either published two research papers or one published paper accompanied by proof of acceptance for a second. All publications must be in journals ranked
Q2 or higher (or equivalent).
The award is presented in two sub-categories:

Humanities and Social Sciences- 3 Winners

Sciences (Applied and Natural)- 3 Winners

Graduation Project Award
This is a newly introduced category targeting master's programs that include a capstone or applied research project.
Nomination Process and Important Deadlines

Final deadline for application submission through the Graduate Awards Submission System for postgraduate students. |

Final deadline for receiving the name of the winner from each college in the following categories: (Best Dissertation, Best Thesis, and Best Research Project). |
February 5th, 2026 |

Final deadline for receiving the names of the three winners of the Scientific Research Award in both Social Sciences and Applied Sciences. |
February 19th, 2026 |
• Winners will be announced and honored during the Annual Research Forum and Exhibition held in February 2026
|
• The winners will be honored during the Forum and Career Exhibition.

Second: University-Level Awards
These awards are
not open for direct application. Winners are selected by a specialized committee from among the recipients of the college-level awards.
General Eligibility Requirements:
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 in related programs.
- No academic warnings or disciplinary actions during enrollment.
- Fulfillment of graduation requirements per Article 16 of the Graduate Studies Policy:

- Demonstrated excellence in scientific publication
- No course grade below "Very Good (B)", and no repeated course registrations.

This award is granted to winners from the same competition at the college level.
The award is presented to
two master's students from programs that require a graduation project (one from Applied Sciences and one from Social Sciences), during the
Annual Research Forum.
Eligibility Requirements:
Active and practical involvement of stakeholders in providing data, samples, or applied field studies.
