Introduction

The rapid adoption of electric mobility, particularly electric buses and heavy-duty EVs, has created new challenges in battery safety, performance, and operational reliability.
Unlike passenger EVs, electric buses operate under:

These operating conditions accelerate battery degradation, reduce efficiency, and increase safety risks such as overheating and battery failure.

  • State-of-Health (SoH) — battery aging and remaining lifespan
  • State-of-Safety (SoS) — battery safety and thermal risk
