    Institutional Research and Effectiveness


    Institutional Research and Effectiveness Department supports Qatar University's vision and mission by maintaining data, analytics, and reports that inform decision-making. The department oversees processes related to data management, institutional policies, research, and accreditation at the university level.

    Tasks and Responsibilities:

    • Provides university leadership with data and information to support institutional planning, accreditation, policy formation, and decision-making.
    • Enables the QU to respond to strategic needs and emerging trends through institutional research and analytics.
    • Leads and coordinate university-wide accreditation activities.
    • Promotes a culture of institutional data management to ensure data quality and integrity.
    • Oversees the development and approval of university-wide policies and guidelines.



    Institutional Accreditation Section

    The Institutional Accreditation Section leads and coordinates efforts to maintain and renew institutional accreditation, supporting all Qatar University units in complying with standards by providing guidance and assistance to improve services, procedures, and activity documentation.

    Tasks and Responsibilities:

    • Develops a deep understanding of accreditation requirements and brief university leadership, colleges, and departments accordingly.
    • Coordinates the collection of data required by accreditation bodies to support the university's workflow.
    • Compiles and refine information needed for accreditation and prepare accreditation submissions.
    • Serves as a liaison with accreditation body representatives.

    ​Institutional Data Analytics and Reporting Section

    The Institutional Data Analytics and Reporting Section serves as a centralized source for institutional data. It prepares reports and conducts analyses to provide university leadership with information that supports institutional planning, accreditation, policy formation, and decision-making.

    Tasks and Responsibilities:

    • Conducts analytical studies on institutional issues.
    • Prepares and disseminate institutional reports and publications.
    • Provides reports to support university initiatives such as accreditation, strategic planning, and the annual university report.
    • Enables data access through self-service reports and dashboards (e.g., Cognos).
    • Offers training and technical support to the university community to enhance effective data utilization.

    ​Institutional Data and Policies Section

    The Institutional Data and Policies Section oversees the management and coordination of creating, amending, and repealing legislative instruments.

    Tasks and Responsibilities:

    • Facilitates the creation, amendment, and repeal of legislative instruments in collaboration with the General Legal Counsel's Office.
    • Facilitates the periodic review of legislative instruments.
    • Establishes and manages a digital repository and website for legislative instruments.
    • Supports the University Policies Committee in reviewing and approving legislative instruments.
    • Raises awareness of institutional policies and the importance of compliance.

    ​Institutional Survey Research Section

    The Institutional Survey Research Section conducts surveys to measure the university community's satisfaction with facilities and services and to evaluate certain strategic performance indicators. It shares study results with stakeholders to support institutional development and contributes to providing data for institutional and academic accreditation and quality assurance. Its tasks include designing surveys, collecting and analyzing data, providing statistical consultations, and preparing reports for academic and administrative units. The section conducts an average of eight institutional surveys annually, in addition to designing surveys upon request from units and departments, providing them with statistical reports on the results.

    ​Tasks and Responsibilities:

    • Conducts institutional surveys for all academic and administrative units at Qatar University.
    • Designs and implements institutional surveys, manages and coordinates institutional survey research activities, including data collection, analysis, interpretation, and report writing.
    • Provides research support for institutional evaluation activities.
    • Offers training and consultations on survey design and statistical analysis for surveys related to the Qatar University community.
