Welcome to the Department of Finance and Economics at Qatar University
It is my pleasure as the Head of the Department of Finance and Economics to introduce you to our dynamic academic community. Our department has recently undergone significant changes in both curriculum and structure, with a focus on enhancing the quality of teaching and research. We are committed to bridging theory with practice and placing particular emphasis on sustainability and technology, as well as on the local economy within a global and ethical framework.
The Department of Finance and Economics offers two robust programs: Finance and Economics. Both programs are designed to deliver high-quality, applied education relevant to Qatar and the GCC region. Our graduates are well-equipped to pursue careers as analysts, decision-makers, business model designers, and forecasters, with increasing emphasis on roles that address sustainability challenges and leverage emerging technologies.
Our Department fosters a supportive and engaging community where students learn not only from faculty but also from one another. This collaborative atmosphere encourages personal and academic growth. We are particularly proud of our students' success in the annual CFA competition in Doha, where they consistently take top honors. Additionally, some of our students go on to represent Qatar in CFA competitions at the regional and international levels.
